Once you have built a solid foundation with bodyweight training, adding weight can open up a completely different level of strength training.
That is where hybrid calisthenics comes in.
Hybrid calisthenics combines bodyweight movements with external resistance. In this workout, I use kettlebells to make leg training heavier, more demanding, and more versatile.
This style of training is aimed at intermediate and advanced calisthenics athletes who already have strong legs, solid movement mechanics, and a good base of bodyweight training. My original workout uses kettlebells ranging from 30 to 130 pounds and includes squatting, hinging, lunging, swinging, carrying-style movements, and calf work.
The idea is simple.
Build your bodyweight foundation first.
Then use external resistance to keep progressing.
